When news about a mixtape made up entirely of new Clipse remixes leaked in 2006, it quickly became one of the most talked-about and highly anticipated mixtape projects of the past few decade. But when the word spread that the remixed tracks would be those from the Clipse’s We Got It 4 Cheap mixtape series, the buzz reached a whole new level. Already hugely popular in their own right, the We Got It 4 Cheap mixtapes featured exclusive tracks from the VA duo which have never seen release in any other form. That is, until now.

Almost a year in the making, the Clipse’s star-studded We Got The Remix mixtape is presented and curated by Detroit-area remix kingpin DJ Benzi and mixtape mavens the Evil Empire. Fully endorsed and hosted by the Clipse, We Got The Remix features never-before-heard remixes of tracks from the massively successful We Got It 4 Cheap mixtape, as reworked by a group of today’s hottest young producers: Diplo, Ghislain Poirier, Sinden, Nick Catchdubs, Jake One, and more!

Also featured are exclusive, unreleased and rare tracks from the Clipse, with guest appearances from Missy Elliot, Vybz Kartel, Kardinal Offishall, Roscoe P. Coldchain and the rest of the Re-Up Gang. To top it all off, the CD is mixed front-to-back by DJ Benzi, who also lends one of his patented “Refixes” to the set.
